Virtual Workspace delivers collaboration environment

• A subset of Telemedicine services
• Chatting/Messaging service and meta-services (e.g. information channels)
• Alerting based on logged activities
• e-prescription for integrating the Pharmacists collaboration
• Nurse-on-call for integrating the Nurses' Agency collaboration
• Collaboration Server for managing the Virtual Workspace
• Shared Resources Database for holding instances of shared data
• Editor for manipulating the Shared Resources
• Log Events Repository for recording peers activities
• Access Control Shield for safe-guarding information, roles and responsibilities

System may operate in three modes, depending on the activated components:

• Intelligent delivery of medical information based on user profile, when only the Intelligent Knowledge Manager is activated
• Virtual Collaborative services, when only the Virtual Workspace is activated
• Intelligent Virtual Collaborative services, when both components are active
• User Profiler for subscribing new users, extracting and maintaining profile features
• Representation for identifying users' access devices and adjusting system responses and providing appropriate user interfaces (e.g. cartoon character for interacting with children)
